Tumwater 4th of July Artesian Festival

4th of July Magic

Hard to believe, but yesterday was my 13th consecutive year of performing magic for the City of Tumwater’s 4th of July Festival. The Artesian Festival includes loads of free entertainment, bouncy rides, food vendors, community businesses, the Kapowsin Air Sports skydive team, volleyball and lawn games, and more.  A highlight for me is getting to hang out with the amazingly creative and hilarious juggler Rhys Thomas.

Oh, and fireworks!  Wolverine West always produces an incredible show.

Many thanks to the Friends of the Tumwater Timberland Library who sponsored my show last year and this year.  Leanne, Mari, and the Youth Services team from the Tumwater Timberland Library were on hand at the Artesian Festival with fun projects, give-aways, and book trivia, signing up kids for the Summer Reading Program.

I always look forward to seeing some of my old friends and clients.  It’s a huge event in the community, and for many families it’s an annual tradition.  Kids come up to me who have now graduated from high school but remember seeing me at their elementary school, the library, a Tumwater Youth Program event, or maybe had me perform for their birthday.  Crazy!

The City of Tumwater, especially the Parks and Recreation team, does an incredible job each year.  I don’t know the exact numbers, but thousands of people attend the Artesian Festival.  Hats off to Chuck, Todd,  Dave, Charlie, and all of the City of Tumwater staff and the volunteers who make this patriotic event fun and FREE.
